Omschrijving
Samengesteld uit 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2,5% Merlot en 0,5% Petit Verdot, is de Lafite Rothschild 2017 diep granaatpaars gekleurd. Het opent langzaam, voorzichtig met ingetogen tonen van met chocolade bedekte kersen, moerbeien, warme zwarte bessen en wilde bosbessen, gevolgd door opkomende noties van gerookt vlees, geurige aarde, geplette rotsen en seringen. Medium-bodied in de aanzet maar groeit in de mond om elegante lagen van energetisch rood en zwart fruit te onthullen met vele hartige accenten. Omlijst door prachtig rijpe, heerlijk fijnkorrelige tannines, heeft het een opwindende frisheid en een zeer lange, hypnotiserend geparfumeerde afdronk. Tot slot is de alcohol hier een overweldigende 12,5%, wat een wonder is gezien de rijpheid van de Cabernet. Een topper (99/100 Parker & 98/100 Suckling).
