Brolio 'Casalferro' igt van Ricasoli. Intens robijnrood van kleur is deze Casalferro. In de neus is de wijn krachtig, heeft tonen van balsamico, eucalyptus en rijp rood fruit. De wijn is elegant en scherp met zachte tannines. Uitstekende balans van geur en smaak aroma's. Een cru van merlot die het terroir van Brolio weerspiegelt. Een mooie wijn bij stevige vlees- en wildgerechten, ribeye of entrecote van de grill of bij oude kaas, ook goed met Italiaanse kaas, zoals Gorgonzola.

From a classic vintage that was especially favorable for an early-ripening variety such as this, the wine is beautifully tonic and tightly wound initially, although it cedes and expands quite elegantly onto the palate. The bouquet opens gracefully to dark cherry, blackberry, spice, leather and tar. These elements are balanced and weighed against each other with just the right intensity."
